Privacy & cookies

Information on the processing of personal data under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), and on the use of cookies and similar technologies, relating to the website www.morisieri.com.

Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. Data controller

The data controller is Morisieri s.a.s. di Alfonso Morisieri & C., with operating office at Santa Marta, Fabbricato 17, 30123 Venice, Italy, Tax Code and VAT no. 03585090271, registered in the Venice Business Register.

For any request concerning personal data you can write to info@morisieri.com or call +39 041 8876810. No Data Protection Officer (DPO) has been appointed, as this is not mandatory for the activity carried out.

2. Data processed, purposes and legal bases

Browsing data. The systems that run the website collect, in the normal course of operation, some data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, browser and device type, and the outcome of the request. This data is not used to identify you and serves to ensure the operation, security and stability of the website. Legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Data you provide voluntarily. The website has no data-collection forms. The “Write to us” buttons open your own email program with a pre-filled message (full name, telephone number, vessel details, location, description of your request): the message is sent only if and when you decide to send it. Data received by email or telephone is used to answer your request, prepare a quote and, if a relationship is established, perform the requested service. Legal bases: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); compliance with legal obligations, including accounting and tax (point (c)); and the legitimate interest in protecting our rights (point (f)). Providing this data is optional, but without it we cannot answer your request.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

The website does not use profiling cookies or third-party cookies, does not use statistical analytics tools, does not embed social-network plugins or videos from external platforms, and does not set cookies of its own. For this reason no consent banner is shown: under Art. 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code and the Italian Data Protection Authority’s Guidelines of 10 June 2021, consent is required only for technologies other than those strictly necessary.

The only technology used is an entry in the browser’s session storage (sessionStorage, key “mtr”), used solely to display the transition animation between pages. It is a technical tool that holds no personal data, is not transmitted to anyone and is deleted when the tab is closed. The website’s typefaces are hosted on the website’s own server, so no request is made to external services to load them.

If the website later introduces tools that require consent, this notice will be updated and consent will be collected before they are activated. The links to third-party sites on our pages (see section 8) may lead to cookies being set by those sites, in accordance with their own notices.

4. Recipients of the data

Data is processed by authorised persons working for the controller. For the operation of the website and of email, the controller uses service providers, in particular Vercel Inc. (website hosting) and Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (Microsoft 365 email), which process data as processors or as independent controllers according to their respective contract terms. Data may be disclosed to public authorities where required by law. Data is not disseminated or sold to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Transfers of data outside the EU

Some providers, including the hosting provider, are based or have infrastructure in the United States as well. Transfers take place on the basis of the safeguards provided for by the GDPR, such as the adequacy decision for companies certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

6. Data retention

Browsing data is kept for the time strictly necessary, according to the hosting provider’s settings. Requests received by email are kept for the time needed to handle them; if a professional relationship is established, data is kept for the duration of the relationship and afterwards for the periods required by law (for example ten years for accounting records) or needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

7. Your rights

You can exercise at any time the rights provided for by Articles 15-22 GDPR: access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interest. Requests should be sent to info@morisieri.com. If you believe the processing breaches the law, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).

8. Links to third-party sites

The website contains links to external sites, such as news outlets, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. These sites are run by independent parties, which process users’ data according to their own notices and cookies: please read them before browsing.

9. Security

The website is served exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The controller adopts appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data processed.

10. Changes to this notice

The controller may update this notice, for example to reflect legal developments or changes to the website. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of the latest update shown at the top.
